About SuHans Yog

A practice of attention, rooted in tradition

SuHans Yog is a yoga practice based in New Delhi and online, guided by founder Yashasvi. We share yoga as it has long been understood in India — not only as physical exercise, but as a path of self-awareness, balance and inner inquiry.

Yoga is not a workout. It is a work-in.

Postures, breathwork and meditation are the tools. Attention is the practice. In every session, we slow down enough to notice — the body as it is today, the rhythm of the breath, the space between thoughts.

This is what we mean when we say yoga is a work-in rather than a workout. Strength, flexibility and calm may follow, and they are welcome. But they are not the point. The point is coming home to yourself.

The meaning of our name

SuHans

Su

from Sushila

Hans

from Hans Raj

The name SuHans brings together two names: Su, from Sushila, and Hans, from Hans Raj — Yashasvi's mother and father. It is a quiet tribute to family, and to the values of care and steadiness that SuHans Yog hopes to share.

Our emblem

The SuHans Yog damaru emblem

The damaru

Our emblem is the damaru, the small hourglass drum traditionally associated with Shiva as Adiyogi, the first yogi. In yogic lore its rhythm evokes Nada — sound and vibration — and the pulse of creation. For us, it is a reminder that practice has a rhythm: effort and ease, sound and silence, movement and stillness.

How we practise

Four threads, woven into every session

  1. 01

    Breath

The thread that links body and mind, and the first thing we return to.

  2. 02

    Movement

Postures practised mindfully, with options for every body.

  3. 03

    Stillness

Rest, relaxation and meditation — the quieter heart of practice.

  4. 04

    Inquiry

Noticing, reflecting and carrying awareness into everyday life.

Why SuHans Yog

Yoga as a way of coming home to yourself

Yoga is far more than exercise. It is a practice of self-awareness, balance and inquiry — and that is where we begin.

I

Attention before achievement

We value how you practise over how a pose looks. Awareness is the real progress.

II

The breath as teacher

Breath links body and mind. It guides every movement and every moment of stillness.

III

Rooted, yet relevant

Traditional yogic wisdom, shared in a way that fits modern lives and real schedules.

IV

Personal and unhurried

Guidance that meets you where you are, with time for questions and honest conversation.

Begin where you are.

Whether you are new to yoga or returning after time away, we would love to hear what brings you here.
